You may be aware of Alan Birchenall's attempts to raise money to help Keith Weller (he is going to do another pitch marathon before the Barcelona game).
Keith Weller has been battling cancer for some time now and matters have deteriorated recently. Weller is going to attend an alternative medicine centre in Mexico for what Birchenall has called "the last throw of the dice". Apparently, Keith's finances (and those of his family) are very depleted after years of costly treatment in the States. Birchenall is hoping to raise enough money to pay for Weller's course of treatment in Mexico.
So, please please please, can everyone try their best to make it to the Cobblers Thumb pub on the evening of August the 3rd. The plan is for a percentage of the bar takings to be donated to Birch's appeal. The more of us that are there, and the more we drink, means more cash for what I believe is a very worthy cause.
