With just several days to go to the opening of the Premiership season pundits are predicting doom for City everywhere. Micky has made eleven new signings in the close season , the vast majority of these have Premiership experience.
Of the three newly promoted sides what stands out for City is their previous Premiership experience, most of the squad has played at the top level and knows what to expect. This could be a key factor in the fate of the newly promoted clubs. Its easy for a pundit to say oh the newly promoted clubs will struggle after all statistics are on their side. Last season Alan Hansen (supposedly a top pundit) said that Leicester would struggle the most out of the relegated teams, despite all our problems this did not take place, again our squad had the experience and leadership to pull through.
Portsmouth and Wolves have both been in the Nationwide wilderness for so long that they will definitely find it tough in the top league. Teams such as Fulham,Leeds and Bolton may also struggle.
Its going to be tight this season and many teams may be involved in a survival struggle but under Micky’s leadership combined with the squads experience I firmly believe that City will be preparing for Premiership football at this time next year.
What do you think ? Will we beat Southampton ? Can we survive ?
