South Coast Foxes presents a tribute to our old stomping ground Filbert Street. At the start of the 2002-2003 season Leicester moved to the new Walkers Stadium but we will never forget our beloved Filbert Street. Below you will find some of City’s fans fondest memories of Filbert Street.

“got to be the 3-3 draw at Arsenal. great performance from city, but that is the only time i have seen a REAL genius at work against leicester. everybody has to admit that although the result was cracking for city, and the game ruled, Dennis Bergkamp was sensational, his goal that won goal of the month is in the top 5 i have ever seen anywhere. i must appluade him, and wolud have shook his hand and congratulated him if i had the chance.”

“well because i could never go to much matches at filbo coz no one in my family would take me coz my mum split up with my dad wen i was bout 1 yr old and my mum has supported city but never went games i started to go to quite a few games last season with my mate and went every reserve game thats why im so sad to see it go coz i loved it last season and it was the last season of the stadium! my first ever city match was in 97-98 we played birmingham in fa cup 4th round i went with my uncle and won 4-2 i sat in the corner of east stand between family and east stand.
my best game i saw there was the 3-2 loss to chelsea last season we played well and we went 1-0 up scowy, then they equilised with erm im not sure now then second half we were 2-1 up scowy again, then zola made it 2-2 then in the last min hasselbaink scored for them but great game though but i was really sad after the game coz we lost but played so well!

“My favorite moment was quite recent, It was the Man Utd game, "the end of a era" as I call it, lol. We were relegated in this game, which obviously was very sad, but the atmosphere around the ground was electric with the chants of "We Love You Leicester, We Do, We Love You Leicester, We DO e.t.c" then all the "stand up" chants that nearly everyone in the stadium stood up to (not usual) and then we applaused all the players of the pitch. Ok we were relegated but it was a great memory that has stuck in my memory every since and I will probably never forget it, also another one was obviously the last league game at Filbert Street, because it was a similar atmosphere.”

My first ever game has to be the best. It typifies everything about City.
It was against West Brom, 1st Jan 1991, the middle of a very bad season.
Dad had got us the tickets as a Xmas/New Year present. We sat in the Double Decker, row C, bang smack in the middle of the stand. Below us, the Kop were in full voice, and I wanted to be part of it.
At half-time, we were a goal down, but still the Kop sang. I was so disappointed, with it being the first game
In the second half, Walshie equalised, then Tony James scored the winner!
It wasn't the most exciting match I've seen, but to me it will always stand out. The way the fans backed the team, and coming through, out of adversity, to win. Says it all!
